How the ethereal morning seems to sing to my soul.

How my spirit breathes clearly as my gaze sweeps upward

How the hidden beauty that pulsates with the falling of the sun painted over

Birthing forth life, inviting one within

How I have waded and waited for the clutter of dry earth which sprouts and looms and frightens my heart

For the majesty of the forest causes my heart to race

Surrounded by only the movement of the winds, vibrating an unending melody

Alone I stand

Overwhelmed

Exposed

How my very being is opened to the rhythm of Mother Earth

How easily the tears wash down the coarseness of my face

And yet, how those winding stairs curl around the fragments of who I am

How the pathway has parted, ascending.

The invitation remains, and always will be

The Love that descends, infects, permeates us all

The Grace that radiates through each beginning of life

The Mercy that winds through each vine, tugging at our footsteps

How vast is the reach of Heaven.

Gently the dew clings, the wave of sorrow passing

Gently she reaches outward brushing the mossy green through her fingers

Gently the crowning of the sun creeps through shredded ribbons of blue

Gently, cupping the sweetness of song she responds to the beauty of Creation

Gently her soul constricts wanting to speak life to the fabric stitched deeply within her heart

But gently she binds her pain, scarring her hands

Knowing one day, the sweetness of her existence will rock gently against the waves of life

Gently the song will be lifted to her Valley awash in her tears

As I wandered through the cloistered, cluttered streets

The overwhelming sense of the pulse

Even as the sun blossomed into the fury of the day

Swirls of flimsy cotton danced in the deepness

In the recesses of my hazels

Every breath

Guiding my steps, energies of my ancestors seeping into the hems of sweeping fabric

Every breath

How life is consumed spoken in the quiet of death?

Once, as streams of life giving waters rushed

Prayers lifted

Connection

Divine

Answers

Thunder heavy in tune with the pulsing of my heart

Dancing in shadows

Dancing in sweet smoke

Crossing the threshold even as prayers abounded

My journey has been twisted and complex

Even as Mother night cradled me, singing softly

Calling to the core of my soul

Reunionat the crossroads caused fear to shiver before me

Ancestral spirits parting the waters, reaching my shore

Wandering through my Valley

Understanding His majestic power

Understanding the threshold not yet for me to cross

Children of the Creator, serving different purposes

Haunting reflected back to mine

Shattering tears that had wept

In the brilliance of a loved one’s transformation

In the dying arcs of frozen tears

Reborn even as my soul was quieted

Shivering in the waning heat of the gentle summer day

Swathed in the colors of heaven

Crowned with Motherhood

In her tones I hear the voices of nameless women, symphony

In her eyes, connected

Life.

There is the chill of transition sharply hanging in the evening air

Wandering as close to Creation as I am able to fathom, part of my heart weeps

My hands are too fragile to grab at the veil, pulling it as a dark pool at my feet

To see the brilliance of what pours fourth behind forbidden sight

There are moments as the winds tear slowly into my being

That I am alone

There are moments when I deny who I am, perhaps because my spirit goes against the grain

There are moments when my soul speaks lifting my voice in song

And is drowned by rejection because most do not understand the rhythm and the beauty of my ancestry

It is then I step out into the comfort of Creation, where the sweet breezes carry the cure for what ails me

The veil clearly wavers in the transcendent colours of the dying sky

And there is where my steps could carry me

And yet, even as my soul wishes to submit this life

Her Footsteps echo in the recesses of my heart

Reminding me, acknowledging me, healing me

Allowing me to continue

The Gypsy must continue to wander, even as the waters lap and play around my feet

The promise of an ocean that flows before me, a reminder, a reward

The sea calls flowing through time and space, clinging to my life

The joy, the love, the mercy and grace

And my heart shall sing forevermore.

Questioned about the determination in her stride

The spirit of her ancestors flows within

Knowing that such a woman mistaken for weakness

So the fierceness erupts in hazel flames

Questioned about the deepness in her voice

Ancient queens speak from the cornerstone in her bones

Mistaken for something shy and petite

So the drums pour out from the strength in her tones

Questioned because who she is

Different frown on as society infringes on her space

The winds whisper throughout the darkness of her locks

So wisdom is reflected along her sun scorned skin

Standing alone, bare footed so that the vibrations of the Mother reaches as soft as a Mother’s caress

Afar, stepping where warriors roamed

Understand this

Spinning, arms open her laughter is haunting

Understand this

She is chained to Creation

Understand this

She is not afraid

The softness of lilac that paints the sky enraptures her heart

And when the Moon calls, swiftly racing across the prairie

The Gypsy will run aside, leaping, riding with the silver mane tangled in her grasp

Swiftly disappearing into her beloved valley as the veil parts

She is bonded to the Holy Spirit
