“through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2
Questions
Kneeling, a prisoner against unforgiving marble
Have you abandoned your flock O Lord?
What is so shameful within my heart, that speaks volumes
That speaks apathy?
Coldness that dwells within each creaking stair that clings to wretched feet
Alas my mind is clouded and confused O Lord
Limbs that threatened to be torn from the roots
Tangled with wires that hopelessly, helplessly drag with each planned movement
Yet, through the scales that cover my gaze, the blaze that erupts
Creation blossoms and sings your Holy Name
Wallowing in the filth created by crude, cruel humanity
There are only shards of hope, in broken fields of righteousness
Garbled words run from their mouths, bleeding the very essence
Allowing our lives to ebb and fade
What else can I do to obtain eternal life?
Clinging to simple wooden doors, fashioned by a carpenter’s hand
Embrace your lost son within the darkness
Pulling me from the depths of my agony
Is there comfort in my dying?
Is my soul just to be discarded?
Whispers as the Gospels speak to my soul
You have been justified through faith
All of God’s children
You have peace
All of God’s Creation
Whispers as the winds carry messages of heaven
There is nothing you can do, rest and do not be weary
Come sit with me, listen to the hymns weaved throughout
Hear the bleating of my children, led to the slaughter
Reach out your hands; gather your brothers and sisters
O child of the Most High
Tears never-ending as the horizons flooded with the waters of baptism
Proclaiming the love of God for all.
